Trikala: Day 3 (10/21/19) Recovering After Meteora
So after hiking like 6 hours at altitude yesterday and being amongst throngs of people I let myself sleep in and relax for most of the morning. In the early afternoon I walked over to the Matsopoulous Mill just to get outside but it was closed for renovation so my 40 minute walk was for naught. Well, except to see some of south Trikala. I stopped at an open air restaurant for lunch and had a quesadilla on the way back so all in all it was a win in my book.
There was a tiny electric portable organ in the hostel common room that I took a crack at but between broken keys and being waaaaaaaayyy out of practice I gave it a rest after like half an hour. I spent some time planning my route to Istanbul, Turkey as best I could but I needed to get a ticket in person in Thessaloniki to proceed further, so I’m headed back north tomorrow.
I chatted with one of hostel staff over diner at a little outside table they had set up about hiking and economics for a bit, but he eventually took over the conversation and talked at me about how much he liked getting high at clubs five days of the week which I couldn’t really relate to.
