Venice: Day 5 (8/26/19)
Woke up around 7:30 (hit my snooze big time) and hit the Venetian streets, time-lapse camera inn hand. Had a good walk full of confusion and a great many wrong turns but I did in fact navigate my way across the city without a map! Took me a little over an hour and a half. Unfortunately the timelapse itself came out fairly mediocre in my opinion since I didn’t hold it consistent or walk in the center of the road, but hey I got to see a lot more of Venice’s streets and canals so I call that a win all on its own!
I took the afternoon off hanging out in the Wombats lounge surrounded by pillows watching anime, playing some games, and generally turning off my brain. Very comfy and relaxing. Made some more noodles and more fresh pesto out of the remaining ingredients form the last batch. That way I have food for tomorrow’s 6 hour train ride to Gryon, Switzerland.
My diner plan was to finish off my wonderful, delicious, fantastic pizza from last night…but some ass-muncher dug to the back of the fridge, ignored the label, and ate it. I feel rage burning deep within my soul. Murder has never been closer to the palms of my vengeful hands. I paid 15 euros from the pizza and it was the cornerstone of my expectations for the evening. I. Am. Mad.
Budget Indian takeout for diner… Note to self: 7 euro takeout is not worth the 4 euro savings, just bite the bullet and get something good to eat. Cuz that was just plain bad.
