Riga to Tallinn (9/20/19)
Barely caught my bus this morning as I was way off as to how specific my checkout instructions would be, but I made it, panting, with a minute or two to spare. The ride to Tallinn was just under 5 hours during which I would have liked to sleep but two people kept taking calls and talking very loud Russian so I kind of dead-brained my way trough the trip.
I arrived in Tallinn around 4:30pm and made my way straight to the Old Town Alur hostel that I have booked for the next week. It seems like a definite party hostel with a surprizing number of people for what I thought was a raelatively small building. It’s fine considering I’m paying only 10 euro per night but I do wish the wifi functioned properly. Currently it cuts out every few minutes so its only useful for google maps. Though the kitchen is fairly nice which I appreciate since I’ll be doing a lot of cooking to recover my budget from Italy and Switzerland.
I met my bunkmate from the south of Spain and he is very chatty. He went out for the night and I went out to dinner at a tiny Asian restaurant a block away. Good soup and a decent fried rice but terrible service oh my lord. Super rude and pushy. Spent a couple hours reading and tried to sleep through my loud-ass roommates.
